We’d like to let you know about our services these next two Sundays.
Family Communion Sunday 12th March. We will be holding the first of a new format of communion this Sunday and we will aim to make it especially family-friendly. We will aim to help families, including those with young children, understand what communion is and why we celebrate regularly in church. We would like to remind you that we have two guiding principles for communion 1. that the one receiving communion loves the Lord Jesus as their Saviour 2. If they are under 16 (be they 5 or 15) they must have their parents/guardians permission.
Mother’s Day Sunday 19th March. As a part of this service, which falls on Mothering Sunday, we will make reference to mothers. However, we are acutely aware that this can be a very painful experience for some. Our service plan and the video we have chosen to play will acknowledge this and be sensitive to this. We do not want to cause pain or upset so we are advising you in advance – whatever your story, whether you will rejoice in the children you have, mourn those you lost, or ache for the family you were never able to have we want you to know, as women, you are loved and valued and are part of God’s bigger family where you are a mother, grandmother, daughter, and sister. This feature will be early in the programme and will form only a small part of the overall service.
