Join Us for our Charity Concert raising funds for Safe Families
On July 6th, 2024, from 4 pm to 6 pm, let the melodies of the Royal Wootton Bassett Orchestra (RWBO) sweep you away at Freshbrook Church. An orchestral showcase of music from light classics, film & pop – all very well-known pieces with the theme ‘By the Water‘, with a children’s choir as a special feature.
About RWBO: Founded in 1982 by Norman Cork, who was at that time Head of Music at Wootton Bassett School. The orchestra is now one of the longest-established amateur orchestras in the area. In 40 years the orchestra has performed over 120 concerts in a variety of local venues including Malmesbury Abbey, RWB Memorial Hall, Swindon Wyvern Theatre, Swindon’s Old Railway Museum and numerous local churches. Five of our current members have been in the orchestra since its early beginnings in the school music room.
The Concert: Admission to this concert is free, welcoming all who wish to experience the joy of music in a warm and welcoming atmosphere. As a gesture of kindness, donations towards the Safe Families charity will be gratefully accepted, allowing us to extend our support to those in need within our community.
Save the Date: But the musical journey doesn’t end there! Mark your calendars for July 13th, as RWBO presents their full Summer Concert at RWB Academy Sixth Form Centre at 7:30 pm. Tickets for this event are available for £10, with complimentary admission for those under 16.
