Our Remembrance Sunday Service.

Our Remembrance Sunday Service.

Update: Thank you to everyone who joined us in person for our Act of Remembrance on Sunday. It is so important to honour the sacrifice and ongoing struggle of those who have served or been impacted by the tragedy of conflict. Lest We Forget! If you were unable to join us but would like to catch up on the service you can watch it here: https://youtube.com/live/SVMHuJx44D0?feature=share

We invite you to join us on Sunday 9th November in remembering and commemorating the lives of those who have served and continue to serve to protect the freedoms we all enjoy; those who died giving everything, and those who fight their battles over and over again, still giving everything!

We will also be marking the 80th anniversaries of VE & VJ Day. The service will commence at 10.30. As part of the service there will be traditional hymns, songs and prayers with the Act of Remembrance being observed at 11am. Following this the service children will be invited to go to their classes. Any guests who have joined us specifically for the Act of Remembrance may, if they choose, also leave. The service will continue along the lines of a regular Sunday.

Following the service, folks will be invited to stay and join us for a church lunch (more details will follow nearer the time). As part of the occasion we would like to hear from anyone who celebrated the original VE and VJ Day. It would be lovely to be able to share some of those stories on the day with all those for whom WWII is a matter of history rather than personal memory. If you celebrated VE or VJ Day and are willing to share your story please email office@freshbrook.org (or call the office on 01793 873050) and let us know, we would love to hear from you.
