Women’s Ministry Pancake Event: A Morning of Worship, Fellowship, and Pancakes

Recently, the women of Freshbrook Church gathered for a special Women’s Ministry event that was a great success—combining worship, fellowship, and, of course, plenty of pancakes!  The morning began with a friendly and cheerful welcome as everyone arrived, eager for the day ahead.

Before the pancakes were served, we had a wonderful time of worship.  Megan led us in two beautiful songs:“Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus” and “Yet Not I but Through Christ in Me.”  The atmosphere was filled with praise, and our fantastic band—featuring a piano, electric bass, and guitar—added a special touch.  The heartfelt music reminded us all that the Lord appreciates any joyful sound!

After the worship, we were privileged to hear from Becca Whittaker, who shared a thoughtful message from Luke 10. Becca spoke about Mary and Martha, two sisters with different ways of responding to Jesus.  She encouraged us to take time, like Mary, to sit at Jesus’ feet, especially when life feels busy and overwhelming.  It was a timely reminder to pause and focus on what really matters.  For those of us who’ve felt a bit like Martha lately—always busy with tasks—it was the perfect encouragement to slow down and spend time in Jesus’ presence.

Then it was time for the pancakes! Everyone was invited to head to the back of the church, where Rachel and Tanya were busy making sure the pancakes were cooked to perfection.  The women lined up, chatting and laughing as they waited for their food, creating a lovely atmosphere of friendship and community.

It was a chance to enjoy good food and great company, strengthening the bonds within our church.  The Women’s Ministry Pancake Event was a fantastic morning, full of blessings. From the worship led by Megan, to Becca Whittaker’s encouraging talk, and the delicious pancakes provided by Rachel and Tanya, it was a time well spent.  We’re grateful to everyone who came and supported the event, and we look forward to many more in the future.

As always, these events are made possible through the kind support of our church members. Attendees were reminded that if they’d like to help us continue organising these gatherings, donations can be made directly to the Freshbrook account, using the reference “Women’s Ministry.”
