Prayer at Freshbrook

Sunday AM: 10-10.20am. We meet in the lounge at 10am for around 20 minutes prior to the morning service starting to pray for all those participating in our service; the speaker, service leader, musicians and AV team. We pray too for our those leading our young people’s groups and creche, for welcome team and those serving refreshments. We pray that God will minister to them and through them, that we all might encounter the living God, by the saving grace of His Son Jesus, through the presence of His Holy Spirit.

Sunday PM: 6.30-7.45pm. We meet each Sunday evening in person for a time of prayer and praise. We will also give time to reflect in God’s word through the Bible. These meetings are more informal than our 10.30 service and offer opportunities to share and pray with each other, as well as for the wider issues we face in our world.

Each first Sunday of the month we share communion together. On the second Sunday, our focus is praying for our UK based Mission partners.

Through the Autumn term starting on September 14th, we will be running Youth Alpha alongside our Sunday Evening Service so there will be a separate programme offered to those young people aged 10-18. Whilst we are running this, we will aim to finish both services around 19.45. The extra 15 minutes makes all the difference.

Tuesday: 7.30-8.30pm. On the 3rd Tuesday of each month, we meet to pray for our Overseas Mission Partners. The meeting is led by a couple in the church who have served as missionaries overseas and have a deep understanding and passion for the importance of prayer support for those serving far from home.

Wednesday: 7-8am. The Wednesday Morning Prayer meeting is the longest running prayer meeting in Freshbrook Church. We meet every Wednesday morning for prayers between 7 and 8 am, and this has been going on since well before 1995. Nowadays, we meet on Zoom. The only day of the year we don’t meet is the Wednesday between Christmas and New Year. We have a short devotional to begin with, followed by wide ranging prayers. There’s a real sense of the privilege of meeting God and of purpose during these mornings. This is probably why this is the most consistent and long running prayer meeting throughout all these years. All who worship with us are most welcome to join us in these mornings. Zoom details can be obtained via the church office.

Thursday: 8-9pm We meet every other Thursday for the Men’s prayer meeting on Zoom. We pray for the church, its ministries and our community, for the UK and Channel Islands and for our Missions partners overseas.

Weeks of Prayer: As a church we hold a Week of Prayer twice a year, once in January as the year begins and again in the summer before the school holidays. Over the course of the week, we pray for the church, its leadership, oversight, ministries, administration, congregation, meetings and our Mission partners.

For more information on any of these meetings, including the details of how to join the Zoom meetings, please contact the church office.
