Sundays at Freshbrook

Sunday is our favourite day of the week because it’s the day we get together as a whole church.

You can join us in person or online. Whether you’ve never set foot in church before, or you’ve been coming your whole life, you’re welcome at Freshbrook.

The 10.30 Service

We meet together to worship God and encourage one another in faith and life. We will enjoy a time of sung worship, prayer, and teaching from the bible. We will also share in communion and as the occasion arises celebrate in other ways such as in believers’ baptism.

During the service, there are also fun, engaging groups for children and young people (see below).

Our main morning service starts at 10:30 am, with refreshments served beforehand from 10.00 am and also afterwards for those who can stay to chat and fellowship.

We have recently started to meet in the lounge before the service to pray for the service; those speaking, leading and involved in our worship, and for our Urban Saints groups asking God in the person of the Holy Spirit to move in our midst leading us into deeper connection and relationship with Him, and to bring conviction of sin and new life to those who have yet to come to know Jesus as their Saviour and Lord

Kids and Youth

We’re keen to make sure we have something for all ages, so we have groups for those in creche all the way up to the end of year 11.

We head out part way through the service to hang out, dig into the Bible, chat about life and faith, and pray together. We’d love to see you there.

Sunday Evening Service

We meet each Sunday evening in person for a time of prayer and praise. We will also give time to reflect in Gods word through the bible. These meetings are more informal than our 10.30 service and offer opportunities to share and pray with each other as well as for the wider issues we face in our world. We aim to finish around 19.30. (see comment below about finish time whilst running Youth Alpha).

New for the Autumn is our devotional series working through the Beatitudes from Matthew’s Gospel, chapter 5. We will have a 10 minute maximum devotional talk shared by one of those who attend the evening service. We will begin looking in turn at each of the Beatitudes. This will take us through to Christmas and then we will look to move on into the Sermon on the Mount. This series started on the 5th October.

Each first Sunday of the month we share communion together. The second Sunday our focus is praying for our UK based Mission partners.

Also, through the Autumn term, starting on September 14th, we will be running Youth Alpha alongside our Sunday Evening Service so there will be a separate programme offered to those yp aged 10-18. Whilst we are running this we will aim to finish both services around 19.45. The extra 15 minutes makes all the difference.
