“Who am I; What value do I have; Do I matter?”
We may never speak these questions out loud yet they knock repeatedly on the door of our heart. We look for identity in how others see us, value in how many people like our posts on social media, and worth in the way we perform. The results are increasing levels of anxiety, depression and low self-esteem, and a devaluing of our worth as individuals.
The Bible offers a refreshing alternative. We can find identity, value and worth if we recognise we are created by God; even in the womb our bodies ‘knit together’ by God so that we are fearfully and wonderfully made.
Believing the Psalmist’s message can restore a proper sense of identity and open the door to us discovering the love of God revealed in his Son Jesus.
We encourage you to listen to the accompanying sermon and hear the affection with which God thinks of you.
