Since opening our Affordable Food Club we have been asked a number of questions about how we set the criteria. We have updated the page with this info which you can access here. Below are those FAQ’s for you to read. Thank you for your understanding.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why only Freshbrook and Grange Park? We are a small operation and whilst we are starting up, we have limited it to these areas as we want to meet the needs of the most vulnerable within our local community.
Why is the limit £22,000? The limit was agreed in consultation with other relevant agencies, taking into account the minimum wage and benefit thresholds. It prioritises helping those working families on low income, who are mostly likely to be affected by the current economic crisis.
What about those who fall outside the criteria? We hope in time to expand this project to reach even more of our community. If you fall outside of our set criteria, but are in difficulty, then please get in touch, we may still be able to support you.
Less than 24 hours now!! The team are hard at work preparing the building for our very special Christmas Market. We’re looking forward to welcoming you.
We are delighted to announce that our ever-popular Christmas Market is happening again this year. Come and be inspired in your gift shopping and get your Christmas season off to a great start. Bring your family and enjoy a lovely afternoon of entertainment, refreshments, and amazing gifts from local crafts and produce specialists.
In addition to our Renew wellbeing cafe there is now an Affordable Food Club and we are open to provide Warm Welcome Spaces in the week. We are also partnering with the Financial Advice & First Teams from Citizens Advice.
Thank you to everyone who who made up a shoebox, helped at the packing events, donated toys and goods or money to cover the cost of postage and administration. We were able to deliver 68 completed shoeboxes to the local collection centre.
Thank you to everyone who joined us for our service of remembrance this morning. A special thanks to the representatives of Freshbrook Rainbows and Brownies, and to Douglas and Jill for sharing their stories and to Mike who played the last post and reveille.😃
We invite you to join us in remembering and commemorating the lives of those who have served and continue to serve to protect the freedoms we all enjoy; those who died giving everything, and those who fight their battles over and over again, still giving everything!
Good morning Freshbrook Community. We are aware this morning that many of you have been without power and heating since yesterday. Freshbrook Church is fortunately unaffected by these issues. Our building is both warm and lit. If you are able and would like to come to the church this morning we will provide safe and warm space for you and your family. We will make warm drinks available. Please feel free to bring something to help keep your children entertained as you wait for power to be restored. If you have any questions then please call our church office on 01793 873050.
