As a church we have very much looked forward to 1st-Oct-2011. This was the day when John Edmonds (previously pastor of Pontrhydyrun Baptist Church) was inducted as the new pastor of Freshbrook Evangelical Church.
It was a wonderful day, characterized first and foremost by gratitude to our God, and also by joy at this happy event. What made it even more special was the large party from Pontrhydyrun. It was great to get to know them a little, to know that we have their support, and that in turn, they know that we support them too. It was also wonderful to have two people, Peter Culver and Bev Savage, lead and preach at this service. Peter and Bev have been very much involved in helping the church whilst we were without a pastor.

For those of us who did not know, it was very interesting to hear the story of how John came to accept the invitation to become pastor of Freshbrook Evangelical Church. It showed clearly the hand of God at work through events, circumstances and also in touching of head and heart.
