Dave Davison, our Youth Pastor, lives in Freshbrook with his wife Chris and their 2 grown up sons.
Dave not only works with the young people within the church, he is also heavily involved in the local schools and community. His roles include serving as a trustee of the local community centre and partnering with others in the community on social action initiatives such as litter picking. His work has seen him partner with the Neighbourhood Policing Team and other statutory agencies to promote the welfare and community cohesion of young people and adults within West Swindon.
Dave is a long standing trustee of our local secondary school – Lydiard Park Academy. In addition to that responsibility at the Academy he has worked with tutors and the staff of the Humanities Department and the SBC Healthy Schools team, with a team of youth workers from a local Christian charity, Swindon Youth for Christ, to develop and deliver lessons and projects that have promoted the value of ‘respect’ within the RE curriculum and a series of lessons on healthy relationships to compliment statutory sex education. Dave has also developed and run a series of lessons in the run up to Easter in a number of local primary schools helping children understand the meaning of the Easter story for Christians as the bible tells it.
Dave is always looking for ways to creatively engage with, and share the Good News of Jesus with, our community.
