Stop Press: This year, the Freshbrook Church Christmas Market will be held in support of the Swindon Night Shelter. Please click on the icon for more details.

The Swindon Night Shelter was started as a result of the vision of members of North Swindon Baptist Church, and opened for the first time on Saturday 3rd January 2009. It is run entirely by volunteers from churches throughout Swindon, including 7 volunteers from here at Freshbrook Church.

The Swindon Night Shelter’s vision is to be able to offer a hot meal and a safe, warm and secure place to spend the night for anyone over the age of 18 who has nowhere else to sleep.

In a world of homelessness, addiction, fear, rejection and marginalization, the Swindon Night Shelter aims to come alongside the needy to show that somebody does care. Everyone needs to be accepted and treated with dignity.

It aims to minister to the spiritual needs as well as the emotional and physical needs of the homeless by being a visible testimony of Jesus Christ working closely with Churches and Christians in and around Swindon to meet the needs of the homeless in our area.

It is a roaming night shelter which is located at various churches in the Swindon area.  Please check out their http://www.swindonnightshelter.org.uk regularly to find out their current plans.
