Winter Training at Freshbrook

No, we are not talking about downhill slalom, figure skating or bobsledding. No special equipment required! Just come and participate.

Beginning in December, our pastor, John Edmonds, is holding a series of training sessions to help us engage with others about our Christian faith.

Christianity not only makes far more sense than other worldviews, but it is also the answer to the human quest whether we know it or not. However, you and I may have difficulties articulating that. Why not come to these sessions and begin see how it all fits together and be more “prepared to make a defence to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect.” (1 Peter 3:15)

Four sessions based on a resource called Toolkit (each person who comes will get a free copy of the toolkit booklet).

2 December 2017 –  1. Answering from the Bible.
Using the Bible to answer people’s questions – why and how?

16 December 2017 – 2. Defence of the Faith 101
Jesus his deity, the reliability of the Bible and fulfilled prophecy, etc.

6 January 2018 –  3. Atheism and Evolution
Does it matter, and why?

20 January 2017 – 4. Other faiths
i. Christian offshoots
ii. Non Christian religions

One to One

Two sessions on reading the bible with someone else (one to one).

3 February 2018 – 1. Why read the bible one to one?
What are the benefits, How does it work?

3 March 2018 – 2. Introducing resources – for readers and non readers – text based and DVD based.
We will look at two or three different resources and show you how they work.
