The Gospel is the good news about Jesus; his life, death, resurrection, reign in heaven and future return to restore broken creation.
Human beings, made by God, for God, to enjoy fellowship with God, and to share in the glory of God, chose to reject God and spoiled all that was intended for them. The image of God has been marred, fellowship with God has been broken, and the glory of God has been lost.
Salvation means being rescued from all the negative results of human sin.
The good news about Jesus is the powerful way in which God saves people, restoring his image in them, bringing them back into relationship with himself and sharing his glory with them.
Salvation isn’t earned by what we do, it is God’s gift to everyone who believes.
This is why we do not need to be ashamed of the Gospel.
